Hi! My name is Aryuna, I usually go by “Ary.” I grew up on the shores of the world’s deepest freshwater lake situated in south-eastern region of Russia, in the Republic of Buryatia. Lake Baikal and the surrounding homeland is a special and sacred place for me. Growing up in a small community in Buryatia helped me learn about myself, my culture, ancestors, and spirituality. My upbringing taught me the most important values in life including the importance of community.I am a nonprofit development professional with a diverse legal education background. My 10+ years of experience in social and environmental project management, strategic planning and fundraising allowed me to develop exceptional organizational and communication skills. I am inspired by using data and creative thinking to solve current social & environmental issues and improve people’s lives. My legal professional background gives me an edge in my approach to gathering, analyzing, evaluating information, and synthesizing solutions to produce the best outcomes.I believe that strong communities are built through the connection with their ethnical & ancestral background, culture, spirituality, and land. I aspire to live my true purpose and passion of making a positive impact on people's lives, help them to become stewards of their culture and environment as well as to develop a stronger connection to their lands.
